A Fun Place to Learn Music

Keyboard kids is a music school for young people ages 4 and up. Our piano classes focus on helping children develop an ear for music in a supportive group environment. Students learn keyboard skills, rhythm patterns, solfege singing and music theory in a fun and stimulating environment.

Classes are continuous throughout the school season and engage children through many years of rewarding musical education and enrichment.

Students are grouped together by skill level and interest. Music principles are introduced and reinforced through age appropriate games and activities. Parent participation further strengthens the learning environment.

The curriculum is based on the Harmony Road Music Course which has been developed over 20 years and is taught nationwide and in Canada. It has been further enhanced and extended by Kaaren through her many years of experience.

We are introducing two new programs this year, Toddler Tunes and The Music In Me.

Toddler Tunes

Toddled Tunes is a program for kids ages 18 months to 3 years.

Children experience music through movement, singing, rhythms, keyboard games, and active involvement with manipulatives, learning by doing.

Toddler Tunes classes will start every 6 weeks throughout the school year.

The Music in Me

Program for kids ages 3 and 4.

Children continue to develop the same skills as Toddler Tunes but now begin to sing with solfege (pitch awareness) , keyboard geography (white and black note relationships), pre-reading activities, and hand and finger number awareness through finger play songs.

Classes meet 45 minutes weekly. A parent or family member is required to attend class with the student. This aids in in-home follow up and creates a sharing attitude which will enhance the child’s musical experience.
