A Wealth of Experience
Kaaren Moitoza
Kaaren began her musical studies at age 5. She subsequently attended Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD, and graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She has a rich and varied musical background:
- Founded Keyboard Kids in 1990 and has taught more than 1000 students
- Studied Classical with Leon Fleisher
- Studied Jazz with Woody Shaw
- Studied Electronic Music at Shoreline College
- Taught Classical Piano at the San Francisco Conservatory Preparatory Department
- Taught Yamaha and Harmony Road Courses for more than fifteen years
- Experienced with challenged and gifted students
- Kaaren continues to perform classical and jazz music at many venues including theater groups, clubs, concerts, hotels, and private parties
Rachel Nakamitsu
Rachel began the course of her musical education at the age of two as Kaaren Moitoza’s student in both private and group piano lessons.
Throughout her musical experience, she has participated in semiannual concerts, private performances, and various music festivals and competitions.
Since 2007, she has tutored students of Keyboard Kids in piano. Also, in 2008, she studied the Harmony Road course under Jan Keyser, the creator of Harmony Road, and completed the complete training course.
Currently, Rachel is continuing to study under Kaaren Moitoza even further.
Nobuko Hasegawa
Nobuko has been teaching piano privately over 10 years in Japan and US.
She has also performed in Seattle area, Michigan, Washington DC and Japan.
Currently she is a member of Lake Washington Music Teachers Association and a member of Ladies Musical Club of Seattle. She is also a pianist at a local church in Issaquah.
She holds Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Mukogawa
Women’s University, Kobe, Japan, and Master’s degree both in Chamber
Music/Accompanying and Piano Performance from Ball State University,
Muncie, IN.
